Google: Browser today, OS tomorrow?

Google’s brand new browser, called Google Chrome, is available for Windows users today. After reading the comic, I download and install Google Chrome on my Boot Camp partition. If i have to describe the experience with Google Chrome in one word: awesome!

Loading is blazing fast! Love the interface. Great auto-completion. Really great for everyday use. I hope they release Mac version anytime soon.

Will Google release a full Operating System, too? Let’s wait and see. ;)

“We are so, so happy with Google Chrome,” mumbled Mozilla CEO John Lilly through gritted teeth. “That most of our income is from Google has no bearing on me making this statement.” http://notnews.today.com/?p=57

    New browser sucks!

    No Page Rank Display!

    No Default Search Box!

As for them creating an OS gooood luck! What are they gonna do, sponsor Microsoft and then try to use that same source code to create their own?

Well, yeah.. This browser (IMHO) is good for ‘everyday’ use. Not for SEO (who needs to see pagerank), and not for professional doing research (needs to search things in many search engines).

But, the address bar *is* actually a ‘default search box’, you could type in something, and hit enter, and it takes you to Google Search result page.

The fact that Google Chrome is based on Webkit, it is more likely for them to take UNIX-based OS and build something cool on top of it :D

  5. I don’t think google will release any end-user OS.There’s simply no value in it.it will only burn money for no good. it’s a completely different story, however, if we talk about Chrome.
